Pakistan and Romania have agreed to establish stronger institutional frameworks to enhance collaboration in aerial defence and address mutual security challenges.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and the Chief of the Romanian Air Force Staff, Lieutenant General Leonard-Gabriel Baraboi, held in Romania.
Discussions focused on advancing operational cooperation through joint air exercises, exchange programs, and professional training for air and ground personnel. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regional and global stability through sustained defence cooperation.
The two Air Chiefs also explored expanding air force-to-air force ties and potential defence-industrial partnerships, particularly in advanced aerospace technologies.
Lieutenant General Baraboi commended the PAF’s professionalism, highlighting its successful operations and strategic advancements achieved under the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Sidhu.
During his official visit, the Air Chief was presented with a Guard of Honour upon arrival at the Romanian Air Force Headquarters. The visit marked an important step toward reinforcing bilateral military relations and promoting peace, development, and collaboration in the evolving global security landscape.
