Deputy Commissioner Hamood Ur Rehman chaired an important meeting aimed at improving water delivery to Jiwani, Chub Kalmati, Chub Rikani, Ngor, and nearby localities through the use of water bowsers.
The session brought together officials and local representatives to discuss daily water demand, supply schedules, pricing, and quality control. According to estimates, Jiwani alone requires around 200,000 gallons of water per day, while Chub Kalmati and adjacent regions need approximately 150,000 gallons daily. The water is transported from SANT SAR to Pleri, covering multiple settlements across the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of transparent, efficient, and equitable water distribution. He emphasised that residents must receive clean and adequate water at fair rates. The contract for supplying water to Union Council Chub Kalmati and nearby areas was awarded to Moin Construction Company. Rates have been set at PKR 1.75 per litre for small bowsers and PKR 1.25 per litre for large ones.
The administration aims to ensure consistent monitoring, maintain quality standards, and prevent irregularities in service delivery as part of Gwadar’s ongoing efforts to improve water access for its communities.
