Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing agricultural cooperation and food security. Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain chaired a high-level meeting with Iran’s Minister of Agriculture, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, alongside Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, to discuss technical collaboration, expertise exchange, and coordinated initiatives.
The discussions were described as constructive and forward-looking, emphasizing the long-standing brotherly ties between the two neighboring countries. Both sides highlighted their shared history, cultural affinity, and geographical proximity, agreeing on the value of joint initiatives in horticulture, livestock, crop management, and modern farming techniques.
Iran’s Minister of Agriculture appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting agricultural development and stressed the benefits of structured collaboration and regular institutional dialogue. Officials noted that both countries possess complementary strengths that, if leveraged through partnership, can improve agricultural productivity, enhance food security, and support sustainable economic growth.
