A powerful explosion at a firecracker shop in China has killed twelve people after a sudden blast triggered a deadly fire. The incident took place in Xiangyang, located in Hubei province, where flames quickly engulfed the store and spread through the building.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to control the blaze and rescue victims, while authorities began investigating the cause of the explosion. State broadcaster CCTV reported that the shop was severely damaged, but officials have not yet confirmed what triggered the blast.
Firecracker accidents are not uncommon in China, especially during festive periods such as the Lunar New Year, when fireworks are widely used in celebrations. Despite safety concerns and restrictions in some cities, firecrackers remain a popular tradition, sometimes resulting in tragic incidents.
