Saudi Arabia’s new national airline, Riyadh Air, is expected to begin flight operations to Pakistan by the middle of August, according to a Pakistani aviation official.

The official said only a few administrative requirements remain before the airline launches its services. However, the schedule has not yet been officially announced by the airline or the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.

Flights Planned from Islamabad and Lahore

According to the official, Riyadh Air plans to operate seven weekly flights from Islamabad and three weekly flights from Lahore.

Moreover, the airline has already opened bookings on its website for passengers traveling from Islamabad and Lahore to several international destinations through its network.

Officials believe the new services will provide travelers with more choices, competitive fares, and improved travel experiences.

Growing Pakistan-Saudi Aviation Links

The launch reflects the expanding relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in aviation and economic cooperation.

Furthermore, the new route is expected to benefit millions of travelers. Every year, thousands of Pakistanis travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah, employment, and business.

More than two million Pakistani expatriates live and work in Saudi Arabia, making the Kingdom one of Pakistan’s most important international travel markets.

Air Services Agreement Supports Expansion

Saudi Arabia approved a new air transport services agreement with Pakistan in June, paving the way for greater aviation cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, both countries have signed similar agreements in the past to strengthen air connectivity and facilitate passenger travel.

Riyadh Air Continues International Growth

The Pakistan launch comes as Riyadh Air continues expanding its international network.

Last week, the airline inaugurated its first direct service to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Flight RX0783 departed King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and received an official welcome upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Consequently, Pakistan is expected to become another important destination in Riyadh Air’s expanding global network.
