Pakistan and Iran have stepped up talks to expand border trade and connectivity, with high‑level meetings focusing on improving transport logistics and commercial movement at the Pak‑Iran border. Federal Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan held discussions with Iran’s Roads and Infrastructure Minister Farzaneh Sadegh on facilitating smoother cross‑border truck movement and better parking and customs facilities to boost bilateral trade.
Both sides highlighted ongoing efforts to remove logistical bottlenecks and agreed to enhance cooperation between key agencies such as customs, the National Logistics Cell (NLC) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to accelerate the movement of goods. The ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepen economic cooperation and improve regional connectivity between Pakistan and Iran.
Officials also discussed broader transport and trade goals under renewed cooperation frameworks, including exploring smoother rail and freight services and promoting trade routes that can help increase the flow of goods across the region. Both countries see these steps as important for strengthening neighbourly ties and boosting mutual economic activity.
