Romania celebrated its National Day by marking 61 years of diplomatic relations with Pakistan. Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu highlighted expanding ties in trade, education, culture, and defence, reflecting mutual respect and cooperation over the decades.
The Romanian embassy has increased its presence in Pakistan, opening the Honorary Consulate in Peshawar and planning consulates in Karachi and Lahore. Initiatives such as the Romania-Pakistan IT Forum brought together over 100 companies, promoting digital innovation and technology collaboration. Cultural events and academic exchanges, including Romanian language programs, further strengthened people-to-people connections.
Defence cooperation has also grown with high-level military exchanges, reflecting trust between armed forces. Ambassador Dr. Stoenescu emphasized Romania’s commitment to Pakistan and confidence in deepening collaboration across multiple sectors, reinforcing a long-standing friendship and creating new opportunities for future engagement.
