China’s Guangzhou has launched a new initiative to develop global-style neighborhoods, actively involving both local and foreign residents. The project aims to enhance urban planning, boost cultural integration, and encourage high-quality community development.
Since 2022, the city has established 12 pilot neighborhoods, each with unique branding and programs that include volunteer services, cultural exchange activities, and engagement platforms connecting Chinese and international residents. These efforts aim to foster closer community ties and a sense of global participation.
Experts highlighted the importance of talent service systems linking local supply chains with international expertise. By cultivating “bridge groups,” strengthening networks, and promoting collaboration, Guangzhou seeks to turn these neighborhoods into lively, internationally inspired communities, showcasing China’s commitment to cultural exchange and urban innovation.
