Key projects highlighted include China-Italy work restoring the Dazu Rock Carvings, China-Egypt joint efforts for UNESCO recognition of Baiheliang Inscriptions and Rawda Island’s Nilometer, and archaeological research in Madagascar linking to China’s ancient maritime history. Experts from both countries combined traditional and modern techniques to ensure effective conservation.
The assembly emphasized international cooperation, risk prevention against natural disasters and conflicts, and the use of technology in heritage preservation. New funding mechanisms and committee structures were launched, while additional member countries including Malaysia, Kenya, and Cuba are expected to join. This initiative showcases China’s proactive role in safeguarding global cultural heritage and fostering international collaboration.
