The Pakistan Navy intensifies flood relief operations nationwide as torrential rains and rising water levels continue to affect millions of people across Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) have been deployed to evacuate stranded residents, provide humanitarian assistance, and ensure timely medical support for vulnerable communities.
Major Rescue Efforts in Sindh
According to a Navy spokesperson, hovercrafts and boats have been mobilised in the flood-affected districts of Sindh, including Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur, and Shikarpur. These advanced hovercrafts, capable of manoeuvring across land, water, and swampy terrain, are proving vital in reaching cut-off villages. So far, more than 4,335 people and 125 livestock have been successfully evacuated from submerged areas.
Relief Operations in Multiple Provinces
In addition to Sindh, large-scale relief efforts are underway in Kasur, Rajanpur, Dera Ismail Khan, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Sujawal, Buner, Shangla, and Mingora. The Navy is assisting in the safe transfer of household goods, fertilizer stocks, and other essentials, while also distributing food rations to displaced families. Mobile medical camps have been established to provide free healthcare consultations, medicines, and first aid to flood-hit communities.
Commitment to Humanitarian Assistance
The Pakistan Navy emphasized that these operations are being carried out in close coordination with civil administrations to maximize the efficiency of relief work. The use of hovercrafts and boats ensures that even the most isolated areas receive timely support.
By expanding its relief footprint across all three provinces, the Pakistan Navy intensifies flood relief operations nationwide and demonstrates its unwavering resolve to stand by the nation during natural disasters. Officials have reaffirmed their commitment to continue rescue and relief efforts until the safety and rehabilitation of all affected citizens are secured.
