Pakistan Navy Marks Navy Day with Tributes and Maritime Vision as Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf NI, NI(M), T Bt honoured the courage of naval heroes. He stressed the Navy’s role in defending maritime frontiers while also advancing Pakistan’s Blue Economy.

“Nations that commemorate their historic milestones remain ever poised and resolute in safeguarding sovereignty and integrity,” Admiral Ashraf said.

Pakistan Navy Marks Navy Day: Honouring 1965 Heroes and Operation Dwarka

Navy Day, observed on 8th September, recalls the valour of naval warriors during the 1965 war. A major highlight was Operation Dwarka (Somnath), when a flotilla of seven warships launched a daring strike on India’s coastal town of Dwarka. The operation destroyed a radar station critical to India’s visibility and dealt a serious blow to its naval capability.

Equally decisive was Submarine Ghazi, which created deterrence in the Arabian Sea. Its presence struck fear in the adversary and forced India to reconsider its naval ambitions.

“This historic day exalts the valour of our gallant heroes, who embody inspiration and kindle patriotism,” Admiral Ashraf remarked.

Pakistan Navy’s Modern Role and Maritime Economic Vision

Admiral Ashraf noted that the Navy, inspired by its past, continues to demonstrate resilience and combat readiness. Its operations secure vital maritime interests and protect uninterrupted sea trade.

He also linked Navy Day to the future, highlighting the potential of Pakistan’s Blue Economy. As part of this strategy, the second Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC-25) will be held from 3–6 November 2025 at Karachi Expo Centre. The event will connect global stakeholders, promote investment, and transform the region’s maritime landscape.

“Pakistan Navy remains committed to advancing the maritime sector, fostering sustainable growth, and delivering economic dividends to the country,” Admiral Ashraf affirmed.

Pakistan Navy Marks Navy Day: Paying Tribute to Martyrs

The Naval Chief called on the nation to honour the martyrs and veterans who secured freedom and dignity. He urged citizens to renew their commitment to defend the homeland with pride.

“May Allah grant us the strength to uphold this sacred trust and protect our beloved homeland with honour and pride,” he concluded.
