The 2nd Pakistan Logistics & Shipping Summit (PLSS) 2026 brought together government officials, diplomats, industry leaders, and maritime experts to discuss the future of Pakistan’s trade and logistics sector.

The summit took place on July 30 at the Islamabad Marriott Hotel under the theme “From Crisis to Opportunity: Redefining Pakistan’s Role in Global Supply Chains.”

The event was organized by Smart Entrepreneur Society (SES), powered by Galaxefi, and managed by ACMEEM. It focused on improving logistics efficiency, strengthening maritime connectivity, and creating new trade opportunities.

Top Officials Highlight Maritime Potential

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhary attended the summit as the chief guest.

Senior officials from Pakistan’s major ports also participated, including Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed, Chairman Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Rear Admiral Syed Moazzam Ilyas, Chairman Port Qasim Authority (PQA), and Noor Ul Haq Baloch, Chairman Gwadar Port Authority (GPA).

Their presence highlighted the strategic role of Pakistan’s ports in expanding trade, regional connectivity, and maritime development.

Public and Private Sectors Join Hands

Engr. Mehtab Hussain Baloch, Founder of Smart Entrepreneur Society, welcomed participants from government institutions, businesses, academia, and development organizations.

He said Pakistan’s logistics sector has strong potential to become a key driver of economic growth.

Furthermore, he emphasized that stronger cooperation between public and private stakeholders can improve trade efficiency and attract investment.

Experts Discuss Supply Chain Reforms

The summit featured four panel discussions on important areas, including:

  • Global supply chain opportunities
  • Port development and regional connectivity
  • Digital transformation and trade facilitation
  • Investment, finance, and supply chain resilience

During the discussions, experts shared recommendations to improve logistics performance and increase Pakistan’s competitiveness in global markets.

PLSS Declaration to Guide Future Action

Asif Pervez, Founder and CEO of Galaxefi, said the summit created a platform for policymakers, businesses, financial institutions, and development partners to work together.

He added that the recommendations from the discussions would be compiled into the PLSS Islamabad Summit Declaration.

Moreover, the declaration will be presented to relevant ministries to support a national action plan for Pakistan’s logistics and maritime sectors.

Focus on Digital Logistics Growth

Asif Pervez highlighted the importance of technology in transforming Pakistan’s logistics ecosystem.

He said Galaxefi is creating a collaborative platform that connects key stakeholders and supports better decision-making.

In addition, he shared the long-term goal of increasing Pakistan’s container handling capacity beyond 3.5 million TEUs.

Pakistan Targets Global Trade Expansion

The summit concluded with a commitment from public and private sector leaders to modernize Pakistan’s logistics and maritime infrastructure.

Participants agreed that better connectivity, digital innovation, and efficient trade systems can help Pakistan strengthen its position in regional and global supply chains.
