Pakistan and China have further strengthened agricultural cooperation with the opening of an Innovation Agriculture Cooperation Centre in Kasur, Punjab. The centre marks a new step in advancing modern and technology-driven farming practices in Pakistan.
The facility will focus on smart farming, biotechnology, improved seed development, mechanisation and climate-resilient agriculture. It will also support farmer training programmes, applied research initiatives and collaboration between academia, industry and the farming community.
Officials said the centre builds on earlier Pakistan–China contract farming projects, including chili and sesame cultivation, aimed at improving productivity and providing farmers with technical support and market access.
