Pakistan’s digital landscape received a significant boost as Zong, a Chinese-backed telecom operator, partnered with China’s ZTE Corporation and Siccotel to expand 5G adoption across the country. The MoU aims to provide affordable access to advanced smartphones and prepare Pakistan for next-generation connectivity.
Under the collaboration, ZTE will offer a wide range of devices, from entry-level to high-performance 5G smartphones, including gaming-focused models. Innovative Buy Now, Pay Later schemes will make these devices accessible to more Pakistanis, complementing Zong’s bundled data, gaming, and entertainment services.
Industry experts note that this partnership strengthens Pakistan–China technology cooperation, aligning with broader national digital transformation goals. The initiative is seen as a step toward inclusive digital participation and a more connected, tech-ready society.
