Pakistan Economy Shows Positive Growth: Ahsan
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan’s economic indicators are showing a positive growth trajectory across several sectors.

He shared the update while presenting the Monthly Development Update in Islamabad. According to the minister, Pakistan has overcome the economic strain caused by the Gulf war and entered a recovery phase.

Inflation Falls to 9.2%

Ahsan Iqbal said the government worked to keep supply chains open during the difficult period. It also took steps to control hoarding and profiteering.

Meanwhile, inflation fell to 9.2% in July, compared with 11.7% in May this year. The decline indicates easing price pressures across the economy.

Remittances Show Strong Growth

Workers’ remittances also maintained a positive trend. Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.6 billion in July, marking a 13% increase compared with the same month last year.

The minister said the increase reflects continued confidence among overseas Pakistanis.

Large-Scale Manufacturing Expands

Industrial activity has also gained momentum. Ahsan Iqbal reported 5% growth in Large-Scale Manufacturing (LSM) this year.

Furthermore, he said stronger industrial production could help increase Pakistan’s exports and support broader economic recovery.

Positive Economic Outlook

The latest figures point to improving conditions across several key indicators. Falling inflation, rising remittances, and stronger industrial production are supporting Pakistan’s recovery.

As a result, the government expects continued improvement in economic activity and export performance.
