Pakistan’s engineering workforce is set to access international markets after the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) signed a cooperation agreement with China Energy International Group. The understanding allows PEC-registered engineers to be deployed on Chinese-led infrastructure projects across multiple regions of the world.
Under the agreement, Pakistani engineers will be engaged in sectors including power generation, renewable energy, hydropower, transmission lines, transport, and large-scale infrastructure. China Energy, which operates in more than 140 countries, expressed readiness to induct Pakistani professionals and collaborate with local firms on global projects.
PEC officials stated that a dedicated China Desk will be established to manage placements, skills development, and long-term cooperation. The initiative aligns with Pakistan–China economic collaboration under CPEC, shifting focus toward human capital development, technology exposure, and sustainable international career opportunities for Pakistani engineers.
