The government has unveiled a two-year development initiative for Islamabad, titled Vision 2027, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Thursday. The program aims to transform the capital city with a series of comprehensive development projects designed to improve infrastructure, urban planning, and public services.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, the interior minister emphasized that cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely completion will remain top priorities. Officials noted that Vision 2027 will encompass multiple large-scale projects, targeting improvements in roads, utilities, and civic amenities to modernize the city.
Minister Naqvi also highlighted ongoing efforts to remove illegal encroachments, calling them a major obstacle to effective urban planning and project execution. Additionally, he announced a dedicated plan to address Islamabad’s water shortages, with a special task force already working to implement immediate solutions.
