Pakistan will host the International Conference on Applications of Space Science and Technology (ICAST-2025) from November 18–20 at the Institute of Space Technology (IST) in Islamabad. Organized by SUPARCO and IST, the conference carries the theme “Space for Sustainable Development” and will gather over 2,000 participants, including 70 international delegates from 25 countries.
The three-day event will feature panel discussions, seminars, plenary sessions, masterclasses, and technical sessions on satellite technology, climate monitoring, geospatial intelligence, and AI applications. A Technology Exhibition and poster display will showcase global innovations and research projects.
ICAST-2025 will also host the “Meet the Astronauts Forum” with astronauts from Türkiye, Mongolia, and the US, aiming to inspire students and young scientists. The event coincides with GIS Day 2025 and the 14th Governing Body Meeting of ISNET, promoting geospatial technologies and international collaboration.
The conference will strengthen Pakistan’s global partnerships, with MoUs planned with institutions from Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Senegal, Bangladesh, and Iraq, focusing on joint research, capacity building, and knowledge sharing in space science and technology.
