Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) hosted high-level delegations from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan at its National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC) in Islamabad on September 30, 2025.
The Uzbek parliamentary team, led by Speaker Nuriddin Ismoilov, and Kazakhstan’s 20-member delegation, headed by Secretary of the Security Council Gizet Nurdauletov, were briefed on Pakistan’s disaster management framework and the integration of modern technology in disaster response and early warning systems.
NDMA Chairman Lt General Inam Haider Malik outlined Pakistan’s national disaster risk reduction strategies, coordination during Monsoon 2025, and the use of tools like the National and Global Common Operating Picture to strengthen preparedness and resilience. The NDMA team also highlighted efforts in disaster early warnings, relief operations, and regional knowledge-sharing exercises with Central Asian partners.
The visiting delegations appreciated Pakistan’s proactive initiatives and resilience-building measures. Both sides emphasised the importance of enhancing bilateral and regional cooperation in disaster management, capacity building, and expertise exchange.
The visits mark growing regional solidarity among Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan in addressing shared challenges of natural disasters and climate change through collaboration.
