Pakistani airlines have reduced airfares on flights from Gwadar to Karachi and Quetta. The move aims to make air travel more affordable and boost connectivity.
The fare reduction is expected to benefit Gwadar residents, businesspeople, and other passengers. It could also help increase air traffic to the coastal city.
New Gwadar Airfares
South Air has introduced the reduced fares as part of efforts to improve air connectivity across Balochistan. Pakistan International Airlines also operates on routes serving the region.
Under the new fare structure, a one-way ticket from Gwadar to Karachi costs Rs21,250. Meanwhile, the Gwadar-Quetta fare has been set at Rs20,840.
Previously, travelers paid Rs23,733 for the Karachi route. The Quetta fare stood at Rs31,000.
Major Relief for Passengers
The Karachi fare has dropped by more than Rs2,000. Meanwhile, passengers traveling to Quetta will save more than Rs10,000 per ticket.
As a result, the lower fares could make air travel a more practical option for people traveling between Gwadar and other cities.
Airline Focuses on Better Connectivity
South Air Gwadar Station Manager Muhammad Saleem said affordable air travel remains a priority for the airline.
He explained that the fare reduction aims to provide financial relief to passengers. At the same time, the airline wants to strengthen Gwadar’s links with other parts of Pakistan.
Boost for Gwadar’s Economic Activity
Improved air connectivity can support business activity in Gwadar. It can also make travel easier for investors, traders, workers, and tourists.
Furthermore, more affordable flights could encourage greater movement between Gwadar, Karachi, and Quetta.
The latest move therefore supports Gwadar’s broader role as an emerging economic and trade hub.
