China and Pakistan have agreed to expand collaboration under a new five-year roadmap. China, Pakistan Boost Cooperation in Science, Education, and Culture through joint research, talent exchanges, and cultural initiatives that aim to strengthen long-term people-to-people ties.
Science and Technology Cooperation Expands
To strengthen innovation, the two sides will set up joint research labs under the Belt and Road framework. These labs will focus on disaster prevention, climate change, clean energy, and artificial intelligence.
China and Pakistan also agreed to increase cooperation in marine science, energy exploration, and digital security. In space, the 2021–2030 program continues with astronaut training, lunar research, and satellite-based remote sensing to support economic and environmental goals.
Talent Development and Human Resources
China, Pakistan Boost Cooperation in Science, Education, and Culture by investing in human capital. Beijing will provide 3,000 training and study opportunities for Pakistanis from 2025 to 2029. Programs such as the Talented Young Scientist initiative and technical workshops will train researchers and engineers.
Both countries will also cooperate on vocational skills, employment promotion, and mutual recognition of engineers to increase opportunities for their workforces.
Climate and Environmental Partnerships
Both nations pledged to take joint action on air pollution, water conservation, and climate resilience. They will share expertise on water management and green development, aiming to improve living conditions in both countries.
Education, Media, and Cultural Exchanges
To expand people-to-people ties, the two governments will promote more student and teacher exchanges under the 2025–2029 Executive Program. Universities in both countries will strengthen CPEC-linked partnerships, while more Pakistani students will study in Chinese institutions.
China will also support Pakistan in cultural events, film, and media projects. Pakistani productions will compete for the Golden Panda Awards, while Pakistani think tanks and media groups will join Belt and Road networks to share cooperative stories.
Sports, Aviation, and Heritage Links
The plan also covers civil aviation, with new flights and routes planned. Sister-city partnerships will build closer community bonds, while exchanges between athletes and coaches will grow. Heritage cooperation will expand under the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia through joint archaeology and site restoration projects.
