Pakistan and China have agreed to deepen security cooperation, including the use of artificial intelligence, following detailed talks between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and China’s Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong in Beijing. The discussions covered counterterrorism, policing coordination, and measures to protect Chinese nationals working on projects in Pakistan.
Both sides decided to institutionalize cooperation by holding regular joint working group meetings and annual ministerial-level engagements. Chinese officials praised Pakistan’s security arrangements and acknowledged the country’s sacrifices in combating terrorism, while stressing the importance of faster coordination and expanded training exchanges.
Minister Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s priority to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and welcomed China’s assistance in tackling cybercrime and emerging security challenges. He said AI-based technologies could significantly enhance Pakistan’s ability to respond to terrorism and modern security threats, reinforcing the longstanding strategic partnership between the two nations.
