The Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan has issued an urgent alert for mining workers operating near the Afghanistan–Tajikistan border. The advisory comes after another security incident in the region, which resulted in casualties among Chinese nationals working in the area.
According to the embassy, companies and workers involved in gold mining activities have been asked to withdraw from the border zone immediately. The notice emphasizes that anyone facing danger should contact local law enforcement and reach out to the embassy for assistance without delay.
Tajik authorities reported that three Chinese workers were killed when an attack—carried out with firearms and a drone, was launched from the Afghan side of the border. The incident has heightened concerns about safety risks for Chinese projects and personnel operating in the region.
