Bank Alfalah has announced an additional $5 million donation to help communities affected by the 2025 floods, reinforcing its commitment to climate resilience and long-term rehabilitation in Pakistan. Chairman Sheikh Nahayan Mubarak Al Nahayan and the Board of Directors approved this contribution, which will supplement the bank’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.
With this pledge, the bank’s total support for flood relief since 2022 has reached $15 million. CEO Atif Bajwa stated that the funds will be distributed through partner organizations to restore infrastructure, rebuild livelihoods, and strengthen resilience in flood-affected areas across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Key programs will focus on housing, education, health, and climate-smart agriculture to ensure sustainable recovery.
Bajwa emphasized, “The generous support from our chairman and board reflects our shared belief that rebuilding communities and enhancing climate resilience are essential for a sustainable Pakistan.” This donation comes amid the 2025 monsoon crisis, which has displaced over 1.5 million people and caused hundreds of deaths, particularly in northern regions.
The bank continues to align its efforts with broader national initiatives to improve disaster preparedness and climate resilience. By combining support from government and international agencies, Bank Alfalah aims to provide timely relief and long-term rehabilitation for the most vulnerable communities.
