SK Hydro (Private) Limited, in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, organized a free medical camp near the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project to deliver essential healthcare services to residents of surrounding communities. The initiative received widespread appreciation from locals who face difficulties accessing medical facilities due to challenging terrain and long travel distances.
Two skilled medical officers from the Pakistan Army provided consultations to over 200 patients, treating common seasonal and chronic illnesses such as influenza, eye infections, joint pain, hypertension, and chronic gastritis. Patients were also given free medicines including Amoxicillin, Azithromycin, Cephalosporin antibiotics, and eye drops.
Beyond treatment, the officers conducted health awareness sessions, educating residents on proper medication use, hygiene, and disease prevention to promote healthy lifestyles and enhance public health knowledge in the region.
SK Hydro supplied more than 100 types of essential medicines to support the campaign. The initiative is part of a plan to expand medical services to other nearby communities in the future.
The Suki Kinari Hydropower Project, funded and operated by China Energy Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., has been actively implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs under its “Dreams Becoming Reality” campaign since 2024. The project has supported local education, constructed a government service center in the Kaghan region, and contributed USD 20,000 to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Flood Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.
This medical camp demonstrates SK Hydro’s commitment to strengthening community partnerships and reflects the enduring “iron-clad friendship” between China and Pakistan.
