Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met a Chinese delegation from the China-Africa & Asia Economic Trade Cooperation body and Louyang Modern Biology to discuss strategic collaborations in biotechnology, smart agriculture, and livestock modernization. The province’s fertile land, expanding SEZs, and investor-friendly policies were highlighted as key opportunities.
The Chinese delegation proposed establishing biotechnology research labs in Karachi and Hyderabad, implementing high-yield crop technologies, organic fertilizers, medicinal plant processing, and veterinary health innovations. These projects are in line with CPEC Phase-II goals and aim to enhance Sindh’s technological capabilities in agriculture and livestock sectors.
Livestock modernization was a major focus, covering tagging, disease diagnostics, vaccine partnerships, and modern registration systems. Memorandums of Understanding and joint ventures will be executed under a dedicated task force led by Sindh’s Livestock Minister, ensuring biotech-driven solutions reach farmers and improve animal health productivity.
