Road access to the core area of the mudslide-hit Gyirong Port in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region has been basically restored.
The road reopened at 10 a.m. Wednesday after repair teams worked around the clock to clear and repair the damaged G216 national highway.
Rescue Teams Reach Affected Area
The restored route has enabled rescue teams to enter the core area. Relief supplies and some rescue equipment have also reached the site.
