Punjab has unveiled its new “Zero Time to Start” policy to fast-track investments and remove bureaucratic hurdles for foreign investors, particularly from China. The initiative, announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif during a meeting with Chinese business delegates in Lahore, allows investors to begin operations immediately after project approval.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Punjab aims to become the “economic heart of Pakistan’s modernization,” offering a transparent, efficient, and investor-friendly business environment. She reaffirmed strong economic ties with China under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and highlighted the province’s potential in energy, IT, manufacturing, and agriculture.
Maryam Nawaz described Chinese investors as “partners in progress,” ensuring them full provincial support through modern governance reforms and improved infrastructure. She said Punjab’s skilled workforce and stable law and order make it one of South Asia’s most attractive destinations for industrial growth.
Chinese investors praised Punjab’s proactive reforms and growing opportunities in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), expressing confidence in the government’s commitment to rapid facilitation.
The new policy marks a key step in strengthening provincial integration with CPEC and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, positioning Punjab as a leading hub for industrial expansion and sustainable economic growth.
