Gwadar has opened a new public park in the Sangar Phase-I Housing Scheme, adding another attraction to the city’s tourism and lifestyle. The park was inaugurated by Major General Habib Nawaz and Deputy Commissioner Hamood-ur-Rehman on Friday.
The officials toured the park, reviewed its design, and appreciated the development team for creating a clean and modern recreational space. The event also featured a local music program and refreshments, celebrating Gwadar’s culture and growing community spirit.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the park will provide a healthy leisure option for both residents and tourists. It reflects Gwadar’s progress toward becoming a green, vibrant, and visitor-friendly city in Balochistan.
Senior civil and military officers attended the ceremony, including GDA Director General Moin-ur-Rehman, SSP Zia ul Haq Mandokhail, ADC Dr. Abdul Shakoor, AC Saeed Kaleem Zafar, Chief Engineer Haji Sayed Muhammad, and Project Manager Nazeer Ahmed Baloch.
The Sangar Housing Project (SHP), launched in 1992, is one of Gwadar’s key urban developments. It sits on the scenic Koh-e-Batil Peninsula, offering panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. The project includes modern infrastructure such as roads, electricity, sewage systems, and water pipelines in four of its five phases. According to Project Director Hamood-ur-Rehman, SHP represents transparent planning, digital record-keeping, and sustainable urban development.
