Premier Li Qiang Proposes Global Organization for AI Collaboration
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Premier Li Qiang, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) opening ceremony in Shanghai, proposed a global organization for AI collaboration, indicating China’s commitment to inclusive technological growth and global governance. While addressing a large gathering of international experts, policymakers, and industry leaders, he emphasized that artificial intelligence should serve as a shared resource for all humanity, not a tool monopolized by a few nations.

Premier Li Qiang’s initiative for a global organization for AI collaboration came with a strong message of openness and shared responsibility. He called for an inclusive framework that ensures the advantages of AI are widely accessible, encouraging joint innovation and mutual learning.

The premier underscored that while AI is reshaping global industries at a remarkable pace, it also brings risks such as ethical dilemmas, misinformation and workforce challenges that demand collective action.

China, under Premier Li’s leadership, is positioning itself as a central figure in responsible AI development. Through ongoing investments, open-source contributions, and cross-border partnerships, the country aims to offer practical solutions that support both advanced and developing economies.

This approach mirrors the cooperative spirit of initiatives like CPEC, which prioritize inclusive growth through technological advancement.

Without directly pointing fingers, Premier Li Qiang’s vision for a global organization for AI collaboration was also a subtle pushback against technological fragmentation. He noted that knowledge restrictions, chip supply issues, and unilateral policies must not become barriers to global innovation. Instead, a balanced international framework is needed to ensure AI remains a force for good, accessible, secure and transparent.

As artificial intelligence increasingly shapes fields like education, healthcare and infrastructure, Premier Li Qiang’s proposal for a global organization for AI collaboration marks a pivotal moment in international dialogue. China’s vision is clear that AI must not only drive development but also reflect shared values and responsibilities. By championing collaboration over competition, Premier Li has underscored China’s role as a thoughtful leader in shaping the future of global AI.
