Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his address at the international forum in Ashgabat, emphasized that global stability is indivisible and peripheral conflicts, such as in Afghanistan and Gaza, are indicators of broader systemic vulnerabilities.
Highlighting Pakistan’s role as a non-permanent UN Security Council member, he stressed the importance of preventive diplomacy, support for the Gaza Peace Plan, and the eradication of terrorist safe havens to maintain international trust and cooperation.
Prof. Cheng Xizhong of Beijing’s Charhar Institute praised PM Shehbaz’s emphasis on connectivity and sustainable development, noting that Pakistan’s initiatives in financial inclusion, climate action, and equitable access to technology help transform conflict-prone regions into pillars of stability.
The Prime Minister called for collective global efforts to address intertwined challenges of terrorism, peripheral conflicts, and climate change, urging nations to prioritize peace, inclusive development, and equitable connectivity for lasting resilience.
