Germany has introduced a fully digital visa application system for Pakistani nationals in an effort to streamline processing and increase the number of visas issued. The new system specifically covers student and employment-related visa categories, which will now be handled entirely through the Consular Services Portal, allowing applicants to submit documents, schedule appointments, and track progress online.
As part of this transition, all existing waiting lists have been permanently closed and deleted. Applicants who have already received pre-scheduled appointments are instructed to attend them under the old system, while all new applications must be submitted through the online portal starting from December 12, 2025. The move aims to reduce delays, minimize paperwork, and improve transparency in visa processing.
Officials from the German Consulate highlighted that the digital system reflects Germany’s broader commitment to modernizing its visa procedures, providing Pakistani applicants with a faster, more convenient, and efficient application experience. By adopting this fully digital approach, Germany seeks to strengthen bilateral ties and facilitate smoother educational and professional exchanges between the two countries.
