Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the inaugural Board of Peace summit in Washington, DC, engaging with several world leaders to discuss global and regional issues. During the summit, he met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who discussed critical minerals, energy-sector development, and investment opportunities for American companies in Pakistan.
The summit also included leaders from Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia. PM Shehbaz emphasized Pakistan’s support for peace in Gaza, Palestinian self-determination, and the importance of ending ceasefire violations to enable reconstruction and stability in the war-torn region.
President Donald Trump praised PM Shehbaz and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir for their role in achieving a ceasefire during the May conflict with India. The summit underscored Pakistan’s active role in global conflict resolution, regional cooperation, and fostering international investments.
