Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on February 4 unveiled commemorative plaques marking the launch of mutual initiatives in sports and education. The ceremony at the Prime Minister’s House celebrated the inauguration of the Kazakhstan–Pakistan Dostik Sports Centre, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in sports development.
In addition, plaques were unveiled for three new education-focused centres to enhance academic collaboration between Pakistani and Kazakh universities. These include a Technical Research Centre established through a partnership among three universities, as well as the Ahmed Yasawi Research Centre and the Al-Farabi Centre, designed to promote research, student exchange, and joint academic projects.
The initiatives reflect Pakistan and Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening ties in human development, knowledge-sharing, and cultural cooperation. Both leaders highlighted that these centres will serve as platforms for innovation, talent development, and long-term collaboration between students, researchers, and sports professionals of the two countries.
