Pakistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to deepen cooperation in arts and culture, with a special focus on music and fashion. This understanding was reached during a meeting on Friday between Advisor to the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, Usman Shah, and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin.
Ambassador Kistafin revealed that Kazakhstan is preparing a detailed roadmap to enhance cultural collaboration with Pakistan, which will be shared soon. He added that both countries are committed to strengthening cultural ties through joint initiatives. Senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of National Heritage and Culture had proposed the co-production of a film highlighting the shared cultural heritage between the two nations.
Usman Shah highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding relationship with Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of people-to-people contacts and cultural exchanges. He also briefed the ambassador on the Department of Archaeology and Museums’ (DOAM) ongoing initiatives, including 3D films showcasing Pakistan’s Buddhist heritage.
The ambassador invited Shah to visit Kazakhstan to meet local fashion designers and explore collaborative opportunities in the fashion industry. Shah accepted the invitation and assured full support for promoting Kazakh culture in Pakistan through active participation by Pakistani artists.
Both sides emphasised that cultural and educational collaboration is key to fostering mutual understanding and strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
