Pakistan and Türkiye have signed an agreement to strengthen security cooperation. The deal focuses on combating terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Turkish counterpart, Mustafa Ciftci, signed the agreement in Istanbul.
The two sides also agreed to establish a Joint Working Group. It will improve coordination between their interior ministries.
Pakistan and Türkiye to Expand Security Coordination
During the meeting, Naqvi briefed Ciftci on Pakistan’s crackdown against illegal immigration networks. He highlighted the positive results of the government’s measures.
Ciftci praised Pakistan’s efforts to curb illegal immigration. He said the rate of illegal immigration from Pakistan to Türkiye had fallen significantly, from 70 percent to 17 percent.
Focus on Joint Measures and Technical Support
Both countries agreed to expand cooperation through technical assistance and expert exchanges. They also discussed joint measures to address shared security challenges.
The agreement marks another step in Pakistan-Türkiye security cooperation. Both sides aim to strengthen coordination and tackle cross-border threats through closer institutional ties.
