Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong met PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday. They discussed bilateral relations, trade and investment.
According to an official statement, the meeting also covered regional developments and ways to strengthen economic and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Pakistan Reaffirms Support for China
Hamza Shehbaz congratulated China on its 77th National Day. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China policy.
He also appreciated China’s longstanding friendship and continued support for Pakistan.
Talks Focus on CPEC, Trade and Investment
Both sides explored ways to expand bilateral trade and investment. Discussions included the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The projects and agreements offer a framework for strengthening economic ties and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
China-Pakistan Relations
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong appreciated Hamza Shehbaz’s efforts to strengthen Pakistan-China relations.
Both sides agreed to maintain close contact and continue discussions on matters of mutual interest. The meeting highlighted their shared focus on bilateral cooperation and economic development.
