Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced plans to establish a China-style law enforcement investigation centre in Islamabad as part of broader efforts to modernize Pakistan’s policing system.

He made the announcement during a meeting with Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) who recently completed specialized training programs in China and Türkiye.

Centre to Speed Up Criminal Investigations

The proposed investigation centre will bring detention, investigation, and summary trial procedures under one roof.

As a result, authorities expect the facility to speed up the handling of minor criminal cases and reduce delays in legal proceedings.

The initiative draws inspiration from China’s law enforcement model, which integrates multiple policing functions into a single system.

International Training to Continue

The participating ASPs said their overseas training provided practical knowledge of modern policing techniques.

They also gained experience in advanced surveillance systems, investigation methods, and public security management.

Moreover, Naqvi announced that international training programs will become a permanent part of the professional development framework for Pakistani police officers.

He said these initiatives will equip law enforcement personnel with modern skills to address evolving security challenges.

Focus on Technology and Surveillance

The interior minister emphasized the importance of adopting advanced technology in policing.

He said Pakistan will incorporate successful international practices to develop a more efficient and technology-driven law enforcement system.

Furthermore, authorities plan to expand the use of digital tools and modern surveillance solutions to strengthen crime prevention and improve public safety.

Advanced Drones for Security Operations

Naqvi also announced that the Interior Ministry’s Aviation Wing will receive advanced drones.

The new equipment will support surveillance operations and enhance the operational capabilities of law enforcement agencies.

In addition, the drones will help improve monitoring and response during security operations.

New Police Uniforms Planned

The government also plans to introduce redesigned police uniforms.

According to the minister, the updated uniforms will improve comfort and functionality while meeting the operational requirements of modern policing.

Modernizing Pakistan’s Police Force

The latest reforms reflect Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen law enforcement through international cooperation, advanced technology, and improved training.

Consequently, the proposed investigation centre and related initiatives are expected to enhance policing efficiency, accelerate investigations, and improve public security across the country.
