Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, criticized India and Afghan envoys at the UN Security Council for failing to acknowledge cross-border attacks against Pakistan. He said Pakistan’s counter-terrorism measures target threats coming from Afghan territory and follow international law.
Ahmad also accused India of supporting militant groups operating from Afghanistan, including TTP and BLA. He said evidence of collusion between India and terrorist networks had been shared, and highlighted attacks harming Pakistani civilians, security forces, and infrastructure.
Despite the criticism, Pakistan reaffirmed its goal of promoting peace in Afghanistan. Ahmad called on Afghan authorities to fulfill commitments on counter-terrorism, inclusive governance, and protection of women’s and girls’ rights while warning that Pakistan would not allow cross-border sabotage.
