Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, met with Chinese officials at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on January 19, 2026. The discussions coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.
The talks focused on advancing CPEC Version 2.0 and aligning Pakistan’s National Economic Transformation Plan (URAAN 2024–2029) with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. Key areas of cooperation included industry, agriculture, mining, transportation, and people-to-people exchanges.
Speaker Sadiq reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for China on core strategic issues and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties through trade, investment, infrastructure development, and technical cooperation between the two nations’ legislative bodies.
