Ambassador Khalil Hashmi visited China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on August 6, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening multifaceted cooperation with the dynamic province-level region.
During talks with Governor Wang Lixia, the Ambassador explored collaboration in renewable energy, livestock, ecological restoration, and cultural exchanges. He also met senior officials from the Foreign Affairs Office to follow up on agreed initiatives.
Two business roundtables brought together leading enterprises in steel, copper mining, deep refining, and agriculture. Ambassador Hashmi showcased Pakistan’s investment potential, policy incentives, and invited companies to the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing this September, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s visit.
The itinerary included visits to Honder College of Arts and Sciences, the Inner Mongolia Museum, and Yili Group’s dairy facilities. He highlighted the potential for expanding academic, cultural, and trade linkages, paying tribute to Pakistan-China friendship at Honder College’s “Masood Khan Hall” and reviewing research at the Rock Art Research Centre.
In the ecological sphere, the Ambassador toured desertification control projects by the Mengcao company, discussing their adaptation for Pakistan’s green development and climate resilience.
Speaking to local media, Ambassador Hashmi lauded Inner Mongolia’s achievements under China’s Ecological Civilisation vision and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to advance shared goals under the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
