The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing held a dignified flag hoisting ceremony to celebrate the country’s 78th Independence Day, coupled with a tribute to Pakistan’s historic victory in Marka-e-Haq during Operation Bunyanum-Marsoos.
The event began with the national flag being raised by Deputy Head of Mission, Bilal Mahmood Chaudhary, followed by the reading of congratulatory messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister. The messages honoured the sacrifices made in the freedom struggle under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, leading to the creation of Pakistan on 14 August 1947.
This year’s occasion also celebrated Pakistan’s decisive triumph in the conflict imposed by India from 6 to 10 May 2025, highlighting Marka-e-Haq as a testament to the courage, resilience, and unity of the Pakistani people and armed forces. The leaders’ messages stressed the need for national cohesion, perseverance, and commitment to the ideals that can build a progressive and prosperous Pakistan.
In his address, Mr. Chaudhary extended warm Independence Day greetings to the Pakistani community in China, acknowledging their vital role in fostering bilateral relations and contributing to Pakistan’s development. He underscored the deep-rooted Pakistan-China friendship as a model for inter-state relations and commended people-to-people ties as a strong pillar of this partnership.
The ceremony featured patriotic songs and a special video presentation highlighting the events of Marka-e-Haq, adding a touch of solemnity and patriotic fervour to the celebrations.
