Pakistan and China have strengthened their technology partnership by signing 24 memoranda of understanding aimed at expanding cooperation in the digital and IT sectors. The agreements were finalized during meetings held in Beijing under the Joint Working Group on IT Cooperation.
The signed MoUs include one government-to-government agreement, seven government-to-business arrangements, and sixteen business-to-business deals. These agreements are designed to encourage innovation-driven collaboration and practical digital solutions.
The cooperation focuses on developing a digital corridor that will support ICT infrastructure projects, including fiber optic connectivity, cybersecurity frameworks, emerging technologies, and workforce development. The initiative is expected to open new opportunities for Pakistani technology firms.
Officials noted that the collaboration also aligns with Pakistan’s broader strategy to enhance digital skills, promote artificial intelligence adoption, and increase IT exports by strengthening international partnerships.
