Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Bishkek on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting.
The two ministers held a warm and cordial exchange. They reaffirmed the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China.
Focus on Global and Bilateral Issues
Dar and Wang Yi discussed several matters of mutual interest. Their talks included preparations for the 2026 United Nations General Assembly in New York.
They also discussed the ongoing process to elect the next United Nations Secretary-General. Both sides exchanged views on issues of shared concern.
Dar Highlights Regional Diplomacy
Earlier, Dar met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Bishkek. The two officials discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
Dar emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in promoting regional peace and stability. He also stressed the need for sincere implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed in June 2026.
Pakistan-Uzbekistan Ties Also Discussed
Dar also held talks with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov. Both sides reaffirmed their close and growing partnership.
Moreover, they discussed ways to expand cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
Strengthening Regional Cooperation
The meetings in Bishkek reflect Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement with key regional partners. They also highlight Islamabad’s focus on dialogue, cooperation, and regional stability.
