Chinese medical team conducted an intensive first aid and emergency response workshop for UNICEF staff in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The two-day training program was designed to strengthen practical life-saving skills and improve readiness for unexpected medical situations. By combining classroom instruction with real-time demonstrations, the team ensured participants understood both theory and application.
During the sessions, UNICEF personnel received hands-on training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), trauma management, bleeding control, and rapid emergency response procedures. Trainers guided participants through simulated scenarios to build confidence in high-pressure situations. The initiative aimed to enhance the ability of staff members to respond swiftly and effectively whether in offices or field operations.
Officials from both sides described the training as an important investment in staff safety and institutional preparedness. The collaboration highlights the growing partnership between China and Sierra Leone in the health sector, focusing not only on medical services but also on capacity building. Participants completed the course with improved awareness, stronger practical skills, and greater confidence to act during emergencies.
