Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed China’s strong support for Pakistan’s industrial and agricultural development under CPEC 2.0. He highlighted two upcoming investment projects: a $400 million Haier home appliance industrial park producing 10 million units annually and a $150 million Challenge Group textile park expected to generate $400 million in yearly exports. These projects aim to create jobs, strengthen exports, and promote local manufacturing.
In agriculture, the ambassador emphasized expanding contract farming, improving market access, and strengthening value chains for Pakistani products. This cooperation will help diversify exports, stabilize foreign exchange, and modernize farming practices, supporting long-term economic growth and rural development.
On connectivity, Jiang pledged China’s commitment to upgrading key infrastructure, including the Karakoram Highway (Raikot–Thakot), Khunjerab–Sost border port, and Gwadar Port. These initiatives aim to enhance trade, logistics, and regional integration. He also stressed aligning CPEC with Pakistan’s national priorities to build a closer China–Pakistan partnership and drive sustainable development across sectors.
