China has announced plans to provide humanitarian aid to Cambodia, focusing on assisting displaced people along the Cambodia-Thailand border. The initiative comes after a recent ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, aiming to stabilize the region and ensure safety for affected communities. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of timely support and cooperation in promoting peace.
During a meeting in Yuxi City, China’s Wang Yi discussed with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn the delivery of essential supplies, including food, medicine, and shelter materials. The assistance is intended to help displaced families rebuild their lives while encouraging dialogue and trust between neighboring countries. China highlighted its readiness to support ASEAN efforts in monitoring the ceasefire.
China’s commitment reflects its broader role in regional stability and humanitarian response. Officials hope that these efforts will not only provide immediate relief but also strengthen long-term diplomatic ties with Cambodia. The initiative underscores China’s focus on fostering collaboration and maintaining peace in Southeast Asia.
