Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday that China is looking forward to deepen cooperation with Moldova. The two countries can benefit from mutual cooperation and improve people-to-people ties. Wang made the remarks while talking to the Deputy PrimeMinister and Foreign Minister of Moldova.
Wang’s expression of interest
Wang noted that China and Moldova are friendly partners and that China values their long-standing friendship. He further reiterated that China is prepared to collaborate with Moldova to strengthen mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, spur the development of bilateral ties, and benefit the two peoples.
According to Wang, China strongly adheres to the goals and tenets of the UN Charter as a responsible large nation. China supports Moldova in pursuing a development path selected by its own people and appropriate for its national circumstances . He values Moldova’s correct stance on issues pertaining to China’s core interests, and welcomes increased participation from Moldova in Belt and Road cooperation.
Moldova’s stance
Popsoi praised China’s leadership in world affairs and stated that Moldova places a high value on strengthening ties with China.
Popsoi stated that Moldova is prepared to collaborate closely with China on multilateral platforms, such as the UN, in order to jointly uphold multilateralism and the international rule of law. Moldova firmly adheres to the one-China principle and looks forward to strengthening the mutually beneficial and win-win partnership with China.
Bilateral coordination
He urged both sides to increase trade and economic exchanges, strengthen collaboration in developing fields like the digital economy and green energy, and intensify youth, tourism, education, and cultural exchanges.
Wang continued, “The two sides should work together to implement the four global initiatives and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the many developing countries.” Views on the Ukraine conflict were also shared between the two parties. Wang restated China’s stance in favour of peace negotiations.
