The Pak-China Friendship Hospital has launched a series of nursing training sessions starting May 5 to mark International Nurses and Midwifery Week. The initiative aims to strengthen clinical skills and emergency response capacity among healthcare staff.
Focus on Obstetric Emergencies
The first session was conducted by Dr. Mah Rukh Aslam from the Gynecology Department, focusing on obstetric emergencies. She explained critical conditions that may arise during pregnancy and emphasized the importance of timely intervention to save both mother and child.
Role of Nurses and Midwives Highlighted
Dr. Aslam noted that nurses and midwives play a central role in patient care. They often act as first responders, making early diagnosis and quick action essential in reducing complications.
Active Participation from Medical Staff
Nursing staff, midwives, and doctors attended the session and engaged in practical discussions. Participants highlighted the importance of continuous training to improve patient outcomes and emergency preparedness.
Week-Long Training Initiative
According to Nursing Department Manager Saima Ali Shah, the training sessions will continue throughout the week and cover additional healthcare topics. The program aims to enhance professional capacity and practical knowledge.
Recognition of Midwives’ Contributions
The hospital also marked International Day of the Midwife by organizing a ceremony to recognize the contributions of midwives. A cake-cutting event was held to honor their role in healthcare services.
