The first session of the Pakistan Agricultural Thousand Talents Program’s seed production and processing training concluded on December 3 at Wuhan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The program, jointly organized by Huazhong Agricultural University and Wuhan Qingfa Hesheng Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., aims to strengthen Pakistani expertise in the seed sector.
Deputy Secretary Shafqat Abbas highlighted the significance of the program, emphasizing that the seed industry is a priority for Pakistan. Trainees received hands-on training in vegetable fields, exhibition centers, and edible fungi platforms, gaining practical skills and insights into modern agricultural practices.
The initiative reflects China-Pakistan consensus on agricultural cooperation, with organizers planning visits to research labs and high-quality enterprises to further enhance practical skills. To date, the program has sent around 700 Pakistani graduates to China, building a bridge for future agri-collaboration between Hubei and Pakistan.
